No-one more excited for SALT than major sponsor Beyond Bank

With the SALT Festival fast approaching, the entire Southern Eyre Peninsula is gearing up for the event.

The festival, which provides a platform for artists and contributors to showcase their ideas and to interact, has plenty of fans. But perhaps none are bigger than their major sponsor.

When Beyond Bank had the opportunity to become involved with SALT, there was little hesitation about the decision.

One of the most enticing factors, according to Peter Rutter, General Manager of Community Development at Beyond Bank, was the fact that the festival is completely devoted to the concept of local communities.

The focus on bringing together and supporting some outstanding regional talent with innovators, artists and clever creators who together, adds a real vibrancy to towns and cities.

“As a customer-owned bank, events like SALT align perfectly with our core values which are all about creating good together. Put simply, supporting local communities is at the heart of what we do,” Mr Rutter said.

“It’s actually the best part of being a customer-owned bank because we can work really closely with those fantastic not-for- profit clubs and groups who do some incredible things at grassroots level.

“Supporting them, whether it be with funds or volunteers, I can assure you we always receive more than we give and that’s what creating good is all about.”

In Port Lincoln, Beyond Bank has been honoured and privileged to have the opportunity to work with some incredible people.

The team at Yarredi Services Inc., a local domestic violence support centre for women, has been kind enough to let the bank help with projects like play equipment for children who perhaps have it a bit harder than others.

The bank has also been delighted to help out the ladies at the Dragons’ Abreast, who, ten years ago, had no boat, no shed and no equipment and now are one of the Eyre Peninsula’s great success stories.

Another recent success story was when Beyond Bank chipped in to help the Pure Coffin Bay Oyster Co. as it embarked on an exciting new plan to bring more tourists to this very special part of Australia.

“We are lucky to have had involvement in such a diverse range of sectors in Port Lincoln, all of which are part of the rich fabric of this region and make it a very special place,” said Mr Rutter.

“Supporting the SALT Festival was such an easy decision for us as a Bank and we are really looking forward to becoming immersed in what is a real celebration of local ideas and innovation.”

The SALT Festival will run from April 20 to 29.
