The Coffin Bay Bowling Club completed a fantastic 2018 bowling season with the club’s 10th annual Oyster Skins Carnival on Sunday, April 8.
This event is one of the most popular bowls events on the Eyre Peninsula.
Teams travelled from as far as Ceduna down the coast to Coffin Bay to play for the big money and enjoy good old fashioned country hospitality.
Sixty-four players enjoyed a diverse range of succulent seafood cooked to perfection by the dedicated staff – a delight for any palate.
Excellent conditions on the day made for a great day for spectators.
Bowlers were enthusiastic and the competitiveness between teams was very entertaining.
Michael Cooke's team of Gary Schreiber , Jim Fuss and Les Curtis from Port Lincoln ran out winners with $800 purse money.
Kym Shepherd's team of Lawrie Green, Ray Hetzel and Dene Kimber from Port Neill were runners-up.
The boys from Streaky Bay – Mark Wrigley, Graham Kenny and Darryl Baldock – led by Gus Giles came in third.
