Elliston have signalled their A grade Mid West football intentions with a commanding 43-point triumph against Central Eyre on Saturday.
The Roosters led at every break as they ran out 13-15 (93) to 7-8 (50) winners versus the reigning premiers.
Glen Tonkin was pivotal with five majors, with Liam Newton adding four.
Tasman Fitzgerald responded with four goals for Central Eyre.
The win sees Elliston climb to second position, two points clear of Central Eyre.
Elliston enjoyed a fruitful opening quarter to kick four goals and lead by 17 points at the first break, which was extended to 24 points by half-time thanks to three goals in the second term to the Bulldogs’ two.
The hosts edged the lead out to 27 points in the third term and then kicked clear in the fourth term with four goals to secure the victory.
Western Districts are off the mark following a 16-13 (109) to 4-12 (36) result against Wudinna.
The match featured two sides without a win after the opening three matches and ended with the Tigers getting on the board by 73 points, with Kingsley Ware starring in front of goal.
The first half proved tight in a match both sides were desperate to win.
Districts led by eight points at quarter-time thanks to a wasteful Wudinna, who had eight scoring shots to six but managed only two goals.
The Tigers kicked three goals to two in the second term to extend the lead to 15.
Districts added three goals in the third quarter while Wudinna could only register five behinds which saw the margin go out to 29 points.
The Magpies ran out of steam in the fourth term as they were kept scoreless while Western Districts piled on six more goals.
Ware kicked seven goals and Stephen Mudge added two, while Remi North grabbed two for the Magpies.
West Coast maintained their perfect start in thrashing Wirrulla by 81 points.
The Hawks were a class above from the opening siren as they took out an 18-13 (121) to 6-4 (40) win.
Wirrulla were restricted to a single behind in the first quarter to trail by 22 points, while four goals to two in the second term saw the Hawks lead by 35 at the main break.
West Coast made their move in the third term with seven goals to three which made the points safe.
They had extended the lead to 50 points by three-quarter time and carried that momentum through the final term with four goals to one.
Aidan Whitford led the way with four goals for the Hawks and he was helped by three each for Joseph McInnis and Mark Dolling.
Western Districts got past Wudinna in the B grade by 18 points.
The Tigers pushed clear in the second term after a tight opening and then held off the Magpies after half-time to win 14-6 (90) to 10-12 (72).
Kysen Shepperd kicked five for Districts.
Wirrulla thumped West Coast by 96 points.
The Bombers were relentless as they won 17-11 (113) to 2-5 (17).
Wirrulla kicked three goals in each of the opening two quarters as West Coast registered only four behinds, with the Bombers powering home after half-time.
Craig Johnson was a menace with 10 goals.
Elliston defeated Central Eyre via a forfeit.
