Plenty of land based anglers had been trying their luck fishing at Locks Well for salmon.

Good numbers of some plump fish were reported during the past week, with baits such as pilchards or squid working the best.

Coffin Bay

Land based anglers fishing from local rock ledges reported some good numbers of decent sized whiting.

Most fish caught were of legal size, with minimal numbers of whiting being undersize.

Port Lincoln

Offshore anglers remain to report plenty of tuna coming from the Cabbage Patch.

Some tuna are being seen behind Williams Island, however the bulk of the reports are of fish at a maximum of 10 kilograms, coming from the Cabbage Patch.

Baitfish are also still in great numbers throughout this area.

Some samson fish have been caught on lumps throughout the Passage.

For the Lincoln National Park there have been more consistent reports of flathead being caught on soft plastics throughout sheltered bays and coves.

On the other side of the park good schools of salmon are still being reported with some decent fish in amongst them.

Some fish reported weighed up to four and half kilograms and have been caught either on metal lures, or baits.

Schools were spread out throughout the Sleaford to Wanna coastline, and generally reasonably close to the shoreline.

Squid are being reported in great numbers all throughout Boston Bay, Boston Island, and the North Shore.

The best results have come from anglers drifting in boats.

Yellowfin whiting are starting to show in more decent numbers along the town foreshore area.

The Limani Motel, whale tail, and yacht club were popular spots for land based anglers wanting to try their luck, with some decent schools spotted throughout these areas.

Fish seem to be biting best on prawn baits or whole small prawns.

Tumby Bay

The town jetty has had good numbers of big squid being caught throughout the day and into the night.

Boaties fishing around The Group reported some decent catches of snapper.

Some of the snapper caught were up to 80 centimetres with most snapper being of legal size.

Whiting numbers seem to be remaining on the lower side.

Having said that, the whiting that have been caught were generally of great size.
