The Flat cement win in doubles round

Cummins 16 defeated Tumby Bay 8

The match was played with eight per side and unfortunately Cummins had to forfeit four matches as one of their players was unable to get there on time. Despite this they were still able to win the night.

They won the first round of singles five to three.

Matt Guppy from Cummins managed to win in five against Darren Arnold with three of the games getting to ten games all.

Cummins won the doubles three to one with two five game matches going their way.

The second round of singles was the same as the first, five to three.

The only five game set was won by Ross Kerr from Cummins against Marc Haning. Cummins again won three of the tiered doubles.

Cummins best: Matt Guppy who won all his matches. Tumby Bay’s best: Reece Fordham, Max Williams, Bill Richardson and Darren Arnold who all won a single.

Yallunda Flat 18 defeated Yeelanna 12

Yeelanna won the first round of singles six to four.

Tom Baldiserra from Yallunda Flat defeated Luke McLachlan in a close five set match whilst Bradley Phillips from Yeelanna won in five against Lorraine Dunn.

Yallunda Flat won the doubles three to two with one five game match going Yeelanna’s way involving Greg Hurrell and Demi Clements from Yeelanna against Jarred Bates and Carmel Sheehan.

The Flat reversed the result in the second round of singles winning seven to three. Yallunda Flat won two of them in five games with Nathan Fong defeating Troy Phillips and Sam Bohem winning against Ellen Challinger.

Yallunda Flat cemented their win by taking four of the last doubles winning three five game matches.

Yallunda Flat’s best: was Lisa Fitzgerald who won all four of her matches. Yeelanna’s best: Daniel Challinger who also won four.

Wanilla 16 defeated Karkoo 14

Wanilla took the lead after winning the first round of singes seven to three.

Heather Pope won against Karkoo’s Brian Turnbull in five and Gavin Traeger also won his match in five against Malcolm Hancock.

Karkoo won the first round of doubles three to two.

The second round was closer with Wanilla winning six.

Three five game matches went to Wanilla whist Leon Hurrell from Karkoo won their only five set match against Ernie Bauer.

Although Karkoo won four of the five tiered doubles it wasn’t enough with Wanilla winning the night.

Wanilla’s best: Gil Casanova who won four. Karkoo’s best: Vicki Mundy and Rodney Pearson who won all their matches.
