The NAIDOC week community march through Port Lincoln was held on Monday, July 9, with many people from the Port Lincoln community and surrounding areas in attendance.

The event saw many families walking together to celebrate the week, which recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from July 8 to July 15.

The march started at the yacht club at 10.30am and proceeded down Tasman Terrace for a barbecue sausage sizzle on the foreshore held by community members.

Other events coming up for NAIDOC week include an elders lunch at the Tasman Hotel on Wednesday, July 11, a family cookout at the wombat pick at Malle Park at 11am followed by a family fun day on the oval on Thursday, July 12, and NAIDOC cabaret on Friday, July 13 held at the Mallee Park Football Club at 6pm.
