Port Lincoln to host councillor election session

Anyone thinking of running for council on Lower Eyre Peninsula is invited to attend a free workshop in Port Lincoln next month.

The Local Government Association of South Australia is running a series of ‘Make a Difference – Nominate for Council’ workshops across the state in conjunction with the Electoral Commission of South Australia.

The Port Lincoln session is targeted at Eyre Peninsula residents who are interested in standing for a council position in this year’s local government elections.

The session is planned for the Port Lincoln City Council chambers on August 8 from 6pm to 9pm.

Information will include council roles and functions, relationships between councils and other levels of government and the nomination process.

Registrations for the event open half an hour before the session starting time.
