People from across the Port Lincoln community gathered at Mallee Park for the annual NAIDOC Week Family Fun Day and Cookout on Thursday.
Service providers including Port Lincoln Aboriginal Health Service, Centacare and West Coast Youth and Community Support provided food and activities from 11am to 3pm.
Food was cooked and served at the Wombat Pit, which included kangaroo tail, kangaroo stew, damper, salads and sausages.
On the oval a number of activities including bubble soccer and a bouncy castle were provided for children.
Family Violence Legal Service Aboriginal Corporation also brought its ‘Gratitude Wall’ which allowed women to write messages about the women who had helped or inspired them to post on the wall.
The wall will then be laminated and will be used for the service’s programs such as Sista 2 Sista.
