At their Saturday Night Dance held on July 14, The Old Style Dance Group made presentations of $500 each to Royal Flying Doctor Service Port Lincoln Auxiliary Branch secretary, Ruth Linsell and Iain Hamdorf, a volunteer member of Legacy.
Mrs Linsell said the RFDS had made 424 landings in Port Lincoln so far this year.
She also said that a new jet, a Pilatas P24, would be in service to Port Lincoln early next year and that it would be capable of transporting three patients.
The acquisition of this aircraft was funded entirely by donations.
Mr Hamdorf said that the donation to Legacy would go towards helping widows of servicemen access the War Widows Pension after their husbands have passed away.
He said the process was very involved and costs associated with legal challenges needed to be met.
Mrs Linsell and Mr Hamdorf thanked The Old Style Dance Group for their generous donations on behalf of their organisations.
