THE Australian Red Cross 2018 Eyre Peninsula Regional Conference was held last week in Port Lincoln with people from Whyalla, Clare, Cowell, Cleve, Tumby Bay and Wanilla travelling to attend.

The theme of the conference was ‘Are you Redi?’.

The guest speaker at the event was Country SA Primary Health Network’s (PHN) regional manger Jane Cooper, who provided information about the activities of PHN on the Eyre Peninsula.

Cowell, Whyalla and Port Lincoln branches provided a reflection their involvement in their communities and  Red Cross Eyre Peninsula regional manager Kerry Schubert provided an update on the many projects and activities undertaken locally.

The annual event provided an excellent forum to acknowledge volunteers and members who contribute their time to Red Cross.

One of the highlights of the morning was presenting Ernie Bauer with his 20-year long service volunteer award.

Mr Baur is Port Lincoln’s longest serving transport volunteer driver.
