At the recent Port Neill CWA annual meeting Toni Hunt was elected president, Barbara Fauser secretary, Dorothy Mellor vice president, Rose Jenkins treasurer, Jan Harvey handicraft, Maxine Turner assistant treasurer and Muriel Swiggs sunshine lady.

Members plan to attend the group annual meeting in Tumby Bay on August 7 and we have been invited to celebrate Ungarra’s 80th birthday on August 10.

Guest speaker at the September 4 meeting will be a representative of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. All the branches in Octoman Group have been invited and the meeting is open to the public.

There will also be a mystery auction and afternoon tea.

On July 17, members met to plan our program for the following year.

We presented three main causes – mental health in the country, the increased use of drugs (especially ice), and the need for passing lanes on our main highway to Port Lincoln to the social issues fact finding team.

Following this, representatives of the local organisations benefiting from donations this year attended to accept their cheques.

Port Neill ambulance received $100, the community bus $200, Port Neill Post got $100, and $500 went to the Port Neill Hall.
