Port Lincoln Council confirms five deputations

Port Lincoln City Council has confirmed five deputations for its special meeting at the Nautilus Arts Centre on August 13 to discuss oil and gas activities in the Great Australian Bight.

Deputations will be made from the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association, Department of Environment and Water, Australian Southern Bluefin Tuna Association, Port Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and Tourism and the Department for Energy and Mining.

Absent is Equinor, the council confirmed at its meeting Monday night they would not be presenting at the meeting.

Members of the public who have formally registered to speak during the community forum section of the agenda will also be heard.

Mayor Bruce Green said the council would hear from relevant organisations and the community before making an informed decision.

The community can make submissions to the council by emailing to YourSay@plcc.sa.gov.au or deliver to its office by noon, August 20.
