OP SHOP: Volunteers Pat Searle, Kathy Beard and Chris Norton help out at the Lock Stock and Apparel Op Shop.

ALL positions were filled at the Lock Stock and Apparel Op Shop annual general meeting on Monday, July 30.

Gabby Zerk elected as president, Judy Wilson as secretary, Kathy Beard vice-president, Jane Pearce treasurer, with Sally Zacher, Toni Sheridan, Lyn Hentschke and Merilyn Kelly as additional committee members.

The op shop has donated just under $3000 in the last financial year with money going to the local Lock Purple Helmets softball team, Lock Racing Club, Lock Community Events group, Lock Pastoral Care Support for hot cross buns to be given to the school children for Easter and to local Lone Scout Jack Pitt to attend a scout camp.

This year they held a successful Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea, with the sales of tea and coffee sold during May and other donations, totaling $500, which all went to Cancer Council.

On Sunday, July 22, the Road Runners Classic Car Club visited the op shop and the museum.

The ladies had a lovely time looking around the shop and bought a few items to take home.

The car club was very impressed with the op shop and museum and a great day out was had by all.

The op shop would like to welcome any community members who would like to volunteer  in the shop on either a Tuesday or Friday.

Call president Gabby Zerk for more information. It is only once every three to four months and it helps the community.

Every Monday volunteers get together to sort out donated goods and put them on display for sale, clean the premises and complete a variety of smaller jobs when needed.

The op shop sends off excess clothing and goods to other secondhand shops in Port Lincoln once they have been in the shop for a while.
