The SALT Festival has put a call out to local artists to enter their poster design competition for the 2019 event.

The chosen entrant will receive a $500 commission for their winning entry once their artwork has been brought to life.

SALT team member, Andrea Broadfoot said as this was the first year organisers had ran the poster design competition she was excited to see the entries.

“I’m very keen to see what’s out there,” Ms Broadfoot said.

“We’re putting it out to the creative community to see how they are inspired by the festival and what ideas of their own they had about it.”

She said the festival might also bring together the entries for an exhibition during next year’s SALT Festival.

“We are thinking of potentially running an exhibition of all the entrants at the Festival, but we haven’t decided on this just yet.

“‘Anything is possible’ is our motto so it will make for a wide range of entries, and an interesting exhibition if that goes ahead.”

Entrants are encouraged to embrace the motto in their artwork.

Applicants must submit a 2D poster artwork and a brief pitch on their concept, along with their works intended materials, medium and colour.

The 2019 SALT Festival will take from April 19 to 28.

Submissions close on September 7, with the winner to be contacted by September 14.

To enter, simply email a PDF or JPEG of your concept to info@saltfestival.com.au.
