Port Lincoln school doing its bit for farmers

Port Lincoln Junior Primary School is doing its bit to help farmers who are struggling to feed their livestock due to drought conditions.

On Friday the school held a ‘Dress Like a Farmer Day’, inviting students to dress up like farmers and donate $1.

Money raised will go towards the ‘Buy a Bale’ fundraiser to buy bales of hay to feed the livestock of farmers going through drought conditions.

The Bureau of Meteorology reports Australia experienced its driest July since 2002 with below average rainfall for most of southern Australia.

Year 2 student Sahara Treagus last week said she was happy to be able to help the farmers and help provide food for their animals.
