West Coast warmed up for the Mid West football finals with a 32-point triumph against Western Districts on Saturday.

The league leaders got the jump in the first quarter and continued on their way to win 11-14 (80) to 7-6 (48).

Cameron Montgomerie led the scoring with three goals, as Ryan Hicks, Dylan Kelsh and Joseph McInnis added two goals each.

Blake Montgomerie and Damon King-O’Loughlin kicked two apiece for the Tigers.

Districts could not register a major in the first quarter as they kicked three behinds to West Coast’s four goals to trail by 25 points.

That gave the Hawks the cushion they needed as they added four goals to three in the second term to extend the gap to 32 points.

It was an arm wrestle in the third quarter as both teams could only add one goal.

Districts had the better of the final term with three goals to two, but they could not end the season on a winning note.

Jordan Newton starred as Elliston picked up a 15-9 (99) to 5-12 (42) victory against Wirrulla.

The Roosters ended the regular season on 22 points following the comfortable 57-point win.

Newton booted seven goals, with Andrew McLeod the only other player to kick more than one goal in the match as he ended with three.

Elliston led by three goals at quarter-time then added three goals to one in the second term to increase the margin to 28 points by half-time.

They were in control of the third quarter and pushed the lead out to 53 points following four goals to three Wirrulla behinds.

That put the game beyond the Bombers, with Elliston notching another trio of goals to finish the match.

Tyler Chapman’s haul saw Central Eyre return to the winners list ahead of the finals with a 17-15 (117) to 7-8 (50) result against Wudinna.

A big second quarter set the Bulldogs on the path to victory and they completed with a 67-point triumph.

Just one goal was kicked in the opening term and it went the way of Central Eyre, who then turned a four-point lead into a 27-point advantage with five goals to two in the second term.

The Bulldogs carried that momentum into the third quarter as they bagged six goals to three, with Wudinna running out of steam as Central Eyre added five more goals in the final quarter.

The result ensured Central Eyre moved ahead of Wirrulla to finish in third position.

Chapman ended the contest with six goals and was aided by three from Kane Grocke, while David Moyse led the Wudinna scoring with three goals.

West Coast got the better of Western Districts by eight points in the B grade.

Blake Kenny kicked three goals as the Hawks survived a scoreless final term to win 9-3 (57) to 7-7 (49).

Elliston downed Wirrulla by 29 points in a 7-13 (55) to 3-8 (26) result, while Central Eyre were too good for Wudinna as the match ended 15-13 (103) to 6-4 (40).

Adam Murphy was on song with six goals.
