Port Lincoln’s Levi Doecke put his bravery to the test on Sunday afternoon for the World’s Greatest Shave in a bid to raise money for a cause close to his heart.
About 30 people gathered at the Grand Tasman Hotel to watch Mr Doecke shave his head for The Leukaemia Foundation.
Mr Doecke announced his plans to participate in May, and said it was a matter close to his heart.
“My grandmother, Betty, passed away from Leukaemia around two years ago.”
“So I wanted to do my bit and honour her.”
Mr Doecke said he was still getting used to his freshly shaved head on Monday.
“I went about a number one, so I’m practically bald.
“I woke up this morning and my head was nice and cold,” he said.
“But it’s all for a good cause.”
He has surpassed his $1000 goal and has raised over $1300.
