Winter social bowls has been held on Thursday afternoons during June, July and August, when the weather has been favourable.
Players from Port Neill, Cowell, Arno Bay and Tumby Bay have competed for jackpot prizes.
The club held a cosmo two-bowl triples tournament on Saturday, August 18.
Sponsors for the day were AM Flooring, Heathers Curtain Centre, BSH Transport, Iron Road – AC & JA Bates and Modra Seeds.
Sixteen teams came from Port Lincoln, Kirton Point, Tumby Bay, Arno Bay, Cleve, Cowell and Port Neill.
Played in very cold and persistent windy weather, teams played four games of 12 ends.
The first three place getters all won their four games.
The winners were a combined Tumby Bay/Pt Neill team with skipper Charlie Dunn, Barry Mason and Denny Backstrom.
Runner-ups and only one point behind were Tumby Bay’s Bill Richardson, Bob Willis and Adrian Masters.
Third was the other combined Tumby Bay/Port Neill team of Kym Shepherd, Dave Elson and Suzanne Cave.
The 18/19 Eastern Eyre Peninsula Bowling Association season opens on Saturday, September 27 at Kimba, being the host club this year.
The Port Neill club’s opening is the week prior on Saturday, September 22.
This will be a club event sponsored by club patron Bevan Pfitzner.
A pooled tea will follow and all sponsors for the year are invited to join club members.
This year social members will receive a membership card and free entry to a membership draw on the first Thursday night from October to April, to win a meat tray from The River Farm Products valued over $25. Members must be present to claim the draw.
Members are invited to join club members to two social bowls days - Sunday, October 7 and Sunday, February 3.
Non-members pay a $5 mat fee.

The club continues to hold its Thursday night teas from 6pm with meals from $12.
Everyone is welcome. Raffles and a spinning wheel are also run on the night.
