Umpires gather to reminisce on past

The Port Lincoln Football League Umpires Association gathered together past and present umpires to celebrate the association’s 50th year on August 22.

More than 30 people gathered at the Grand Tasman Hotel for an evening which included acknowledgments and sharing of stories, from the ways umpiring had changed to encounters with players and supporters.

Warren Dickie, who alongside fellow founding member Robert Edwards received a certificate of appreciation for their services, said it was fantastic to see where the association was from where it started.

The need for more members to come on board to keep the association going into the future was also shared.
