New Eyre and Western Local Service Area Superintendent Julie Thomas brings a wealth of policing experience to her new role as the head of policing in the region.
Moving here at the start of August, Superintendent Thomas has served as the operations manager in the Adelaide CBD, Sturt and Hills Fleurieu LSAs in her 26 year career.
Superintendent Thomas has had previous experience in the LSA when she was stationed in Whyalla after graduating from the police academy and said her focuses would be community safety and crime reduction while stationed in Port Lincoln.
Superintendent Thomas said she would accomplish this by supporting her staff to perform their roles to their fullest potential.
She said she was looking forward to working in the region, especially because of the sense of community in a regional setting.
In her short time in the area Superintendent Thomas said she advised people to lock their car doors and keep their houses secure due to the spate of motor vehicle crime in recent weeks.
