Squeals of excitement and joy will soon be heard at the Cummins Railway Triangle Park Nature Playground which will have its official opening on October 10.
Comittee member Sophie Blacker said some finishing touches needed to be installed at the playground and a final safety inspection would be completed at the end of the month.
Mrs Blacker said stage one of the playground cost about $28,000 and many volunteer hours were spent on the playground’s construction.
She said ideas for stage two of the playground have been spoken about by members of the committee and include installing objects to add to the “adventure side” of the playground.
Everyone is welcome to attend the grand opening between 10am and 2pm.
The opening coincides with the Nature Play Festival 2018, running from October 2 to 14, and will host a set of nature based activities for children.
“The kids finally have a chance to run on it,” she said.
