Port Lincoln gymnastics
Three Port Lincoln gymnasts travelled to Adelaide recently to compete in the Women’s Level 4-6 State Championships.
Ella Simpson competed in her third metro competition for this year in the level five under 11 division.
Ella started on beam with a few nervous wobbles, getting through all her skills and landing her front salto dismount. Best apparatus results were seventh on vault with a score of 8.966, seventh on uneven bars with 8.800 and 11th all round.
Emily Tarrant and Holly Wilson competed in the level five open division starting off on uneven bars with Emily almost achieving her glide kip, one of the hardest skills to learn in women’s gymnastics, and connecting her other skills to land herself a score of 8.283 and 10th place.
Emily warmed up for vault to find speed and inspiration for her vaults to score a 9.050 and win the bronze medal.
Holly has been working extremely hard on bars and fully connected her glide kip cast into her bar routine to score 8.633 and seventh place, Holly is also a strong vaulter with speed to burn, scoring 8.950 and fifth place.
These solid performances on vault and bars were enough to place her 12th in the all round results and earn her WAG level five badge.
