Joseph Harris won his second tournament of the season, taking out the Port Lincoln Table Tennis Association’s Open Tournament, defeating Darren Atkins in straight sets.
Serena Fong won the women’s defeating Sally Kunze.
The two-day tournament kicked off on the Saturday with the aged events.
Harris was impressive taking out the under 15 and under 18 events, against Anushka Mudalige (Whyalla).
At the other end of the spectrum, Lester Barnes won the over 40 and over 60 singles, while Sally Kunze won the corresponding events for the women.
Sally Kunze then backed it up to win the mixed doubles with Joseph Harris over Darren Atkins and Vicki Mundy.
Sunday’s events provided mixed results.
Jake Rodgers and Karen Embler collected wins in the handicapped events, while Jarrad Elson won the C singles over Cheryl King.
Anthony Freegard (Adelaide) took out the men’s B singles and Ellen Challinger the women’s.
The day culminated with the finals of the open events.
Harris and Mudalige were too good in the men’s open doubles, winning in straight sets over Atkins and D. Challinger.
Kunze and Fong won the women’s open doubles over E. Challinger and King.
Doubles partners then faced off in the women’s open singles, with Fong winning her first open title, defeating Kunze.
Harris capped off a fine weekend in winning the open singles title.
