Makybe Diva gives birth to a Written Tycoon filly

Makybe Diva has given birth to her seventh foal at Vinery Stud in the New South Wales town of Scone overnight.

The new filly, sired by Written Tycoon, is the winning racehorses seventh foal since retiring in 2005.

The racehorse has made $14,526,685 million in winnings for South Australian owner and Port Lincoln tuna fisherman Tony Santic.

A life-sized bronze statue currently sits on the Port Lincoln foreshore to honour the racehorse and it’s owner.

Mr Santic allegedly named the horse after five of his employees by taking the first two letters from each of their names.

Makybe Diva became the first horse in history to win the Melbourne Cup three consecutive times in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

The Great British mare also gave birth to Rockstardom in 2007, La Dolce Diva in 2008, Coaster in 2009, Taqneen in 2011, Surrey in 2012, Divanation in 2014, and a chestnut filly in 2015 and bay brown filly in 2016.

The winning racehorse had 36 starts over its career, with 15 wins, before it was inducted into the Australian  Racing Hall of Fame.
