More than 1000 people took in the Port Lincoln Foreshore Markets sights, smells and sounds on Friday, causing the organiser to label the event as a success.
Market organiser Rochelle Hogben said she did not expect the amount of people to attend the market on Friday night and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of community support.
“There were just flows of people right from the start until after dark,” Miss Hogben said.
Packing out the market were 25 stall holders and one musician who were kept busy by the large number of attendees.
“Everybody said it was a beautiful place to be with an excellent atmosphere,” Miss Hogben said.
“We’re booked up until the start of January...(I) would love more producers and hot food (stalls).”
Biscotti stall holder Nada Gobin said the night was “fantastic” and it was really easy to sell her food on the night.
“It was a fantastic turnout, it’s so lovely to see Port Lincoln support the new markets,” Ms Gobin said.
The markets will continue on the first friday night of each month, running from 4pm until 8pm, with an additional two markets on Friday, December 21 and Friday, January 18, 2019 during the school holidays.
The next Port Lincoln Foreshore Market will be held on Friday, November 2, and the last market planned for the warmer months is on March 1, 2019.
