Adventure Bay Charters, Calypso Star Charters and the City of Port Lincoln have been named as tourism award finalists and will be showcased at the 2018 South Australian Tourism Awards Gala Dinner on Friday, November 9 at the Adelaide convention centre.

The annual gala dinner will recognise some of the state’s finest tourist attractions, accommodation and events, and could see South Australian Tourism Awards Hall of Fame inductee Calypso Star Charters become inducted once again if it wins the tourist attractions category this year.

South Australian tourism Industry Council (SATIC) chief executive officer Shaun de Bruyn said the Eyre Peninsula was home to some of South Australia’s best tourism experiences.

“The State Tourism Awards Gala Dinner is a premier event which celebrates South Australia’s finest tourism operators and acknowledges their commitment to delivering best business practice,” Mr de Bruyn said.

“A tourism award is a prestigious accolade which raises brand reputation and consumer awareness amongst a highly competitive industry."

“I congratulate all finalists on their success and wish them the best of luck.”

The three Port Lincoln based finalists join four other Eyre Peninsula finalists – the Ceduna Oysterfest, Chinta Air Tours, doi’s Oceanfront Apartments, and Perlubie Sea – in the awards.

This year the South Australian Tourism Awards received 154 nominations.

Most category winners will go on to represent South Australia at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Launceston in 2019.
