Nominations for the 2019 Australian Day Citizen of the Year Awards are officially open.
Councils across the Eyre Peninsula are asking for nominations across three categories: citizen of the year, young citizen of the year and community event of the year.
The award recipients will be announced on January 26, 2019 at the various Australia Day celebrations around the region.
South Australia’s Australia Day Council chief executive officer Jan Chorley has encouraged people to nominate someone they know.
“(Those nominated) are people who give back and contribute to making their part of the world a better place,” Ms Chorley said.
It only takes one nomination for someone to be included for the awards.
