Port Lincoln junior state table tennis players Joseph Harris, Nathan Fong and coach Barry Hancock travelled to Townsville Queensland for the National Junior Table Tennis Championships.
Nathan played in the under 13 team and finished fourth in the teams event and reached the quarter finals in the singles. He played a NSW player and the match went down to the wire in the best of seven games.
Nathan came from behind to level the match at three-games all.
The last game the entire hall had converged around the table, with the score at 8-10 Nathan refused to give up and levelled the score 10-10 with the crowd urging the players on. Nathan won the match 12-10 much to delight of the South Australian team. Nathan lost his semi final match once again refusing to give up.
Joseph played in the under 15 B team and they finished eighth out of 13 teams. In the under 18 singles Joseph won his play off group to go into the next round losing his match.
Port Lincoln Table Tennis is having a Junior table tennis event for junior players eight years and over who would like to try out table tennis
