The final fundraiser planned for Port Lincoln’s Youthoria had to be cancelled due to a lack of community support, with only 39 tickets sold.
The Grease fundraiser was due to take place on Thursday, December 6 to help raise funds for West Coast Youth and Community Support (WCYCS) youth programs.
WCYCS youth program manager Angela Perin said it was a unfortunate that the fundraiser had to be cancelled.
“It’s unfortunate that the community could not get behind this final fundraiser,” she said.
“We feel privileged to have the likes of the Port Lincoln Times and Magic FM dedicating their time and energy to supporting young people in the community.”
For the Grease 40th anniversary fundraising event to go ahead 100 tickets needed to be sold.
WCYCS were working with SA Tickets to refund customers.
Youthoria will close its doors on December 31, leaving the lower Eyre Peninsula region without a cinema.
