Artists, art groups and community members are invited to take part in an art consultation for the Elliston region.
Questions relating to art inspirations, what people want to see happen in the arts in Elliston over the next 18 months, art skills people would like to pick up, resources they need, and whether they want to grow their arts practice, will be part of the consultation.
The Elliston District Council has engaged Jayne Holland of createwithu.com to facilitate conversations about the arts and what could potentially be achieved in the region on Wednesday, February 13.
Ms Holland will provide information about the art industry and what funding is available.
Elliston mayor Malcolm Hancock said communities in the region had a long-standing tradition of great artists and art activities emerging from the district brought attention to the region.
“Artists in our community are very proactive and inclusive of the broader community in their endeavour [and] because of this art is... a valued part of our everyday lives here in Elliston,” he said.
“Our communities are remote and regional and so council recognises that if we collaborate together and work smarter we may better resource the arts.
“We hope some great ideas can come from the consultation that can potentially be supported and realised in 2019-20 and beyond.”
Sessions will take place at the Elliston Community Hall at 6 Memorial Drive, from 2-3pm and then 7-8pm.
For an appointment or more information contact Ms Holland on 0427 706 454.
