A couple from Adelaide decided to tie the knot on February 6 after arriving via the Pacific Eden cruise ship.
Alana Glen and Daniel Van Poppel had previously joked about getting married on a cruise, but discovered it could be done, and decided on Port Lincoln for the destination.
The bride and groom wed overlooking the bay before being taken back to the ship in a matter of hours.
Port Lincoln Hotel wedding coordinator Karena Cowley said it was an amazing day that “all just came together”.
“I was worried about the weather, but Port Lincoln just shined for them – it was perfect,” she said.
“It is our very first cruise wedding – the groom had joked about it but then the bride started doing some research.”
Ms Cowley said they then emailed her a few months ago about having the wedding at the hotel.
“They’d never been to Port Lincoln before…..the ceremony was at 1pm, then they took some photos and by 4pm were back on the boat, it was very quick,” she said.
“It was great, maybe we will get more (cruise weddings) like that in future.”
The happy couple were expected to continue celebrations for the remainder of the cruise, returning to Adelaide on Sunday.
