For the first time, Port Lincoln will welcome two cruise ships at once on Wednesday, bringing ashore more than 2500 passengers.
The Astor and the Pacific Jewel will dock on February 20, a sight Port Lincoln council's mayor Brad Flaherty said would be impressive.
"The pride in our city is apparent and we are becoming renowned for providing a first class welcome," he said.
"I encourage the community to come down to the foreshore and enjoy the special cruise ship buzz in and around the CBD”.
Council's community services manager Janet Grocke said the city was prepared for the passengers.
"We are all geared up for it, it's going to be a spectacular sight," she said.
"We just ask for people to please be patient with us as there may be a few extra tour buses on the road."
She said Flinders Ports indicated the ships would dock on either side of the wharf.
The hop-on/hop-off buses, markets and the Nautilus Arts Centre’s Artists in Residence Day will welcome visitors.
