DISCOVERY: Skeletal remains could be those of missing man Jarred Mueller, last seen in 1999.

Local police are investigating the discovery of a skeleton off scrub land near Western Approach Road on March 13. 

The discovery was made by two men who reported the case to police at about 11.50 am on Wednesday.

Police inquiries were made in a bid to determine the circumstances of the death, however the matter is now not considered suspicious. 

Police now are looking to determine if the remains are those of missing man Jarred Mueller, last seen in 1999. 

Officer in charge of the Eyre and Western Local service area Superintendent Paul Bahr said it would be some time before the identity of the remains could be confirmed, but the man's family had been advised of the discovery. 

“Forensic response have attended the area yesterday and a report will be prepared for the Coroner,” he said.

The skeleton could be Jarred Mueller who was last seen on June 12, 1999, after leaving his father's house on Proper Bay Road. 

He was age 28 at the time of his disappearance. 

The matter is currently under police investigation, and the remains are expected to be identified in the coming months.
