A Port Lincoln man was arrested on Friday following an alleged assault earlier this week.
Police will allege on the afternoon of March 20 a 29-year-old West Lakes Shore man was punched and kicked by another man known to him while the pair were in Cronin Avenue.
The victim was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries.
The 27-year-old man was charged with assault to cause harm.
He was refused bail and was scheduled to appear in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court later on Friday.
Eyre and Western Local Service Area officer in charge, Superintendent Paul Bahr said police would continue to pursue anyone who committed acts of violence in the community.
"Police would like to thank members of the public who have assisted in this investigation," he said.
"Police will continue to enforce a zero tolerance (on) any acts of violence."
