Residents living around the Farm Beach area will gain Optus mobile coverage after a new mobile site was switched on in the past week.
The new site, located on Farm Beach Road is a part of round two of the federal government's Mobile Black Spot Program.
The site will provide mobile coverage across 54 square kilometres, reaching more than 170 households in the area.
It will also extend coverage from Farm Beach and towards Little Douglas and Wangary along Farm Beach Road.
Farm Beach is the 12th federal government Mobile Black Spot site delivered by Optus in South Australia.
An Optus spokesperson said the ability to make and receive calls and browse the internet was something all Australians should have access to.
The Mobile Black Spot Program is a federal government initiative to improve mobile phone coverage across regional and remote Australia.
The fourth round of the program was announced on March 22 with 29 locations in South Australia, including Baird Bay and Buckleboo on Eyre Peninsula.
