Pink win nail-biting bocce final

The weather turned out perfect for the ladies' annual bocce tournament held at the Port Lincoln Croatian Sporting Club on May 4.

This was a full one day event where all came out to enjoy a day of bocce and have some fun with the hope of taking out the winning title for the year.

A round robin played on Saturday with nine teams of three players in two pools, each with the two top teams going in to the semi finals.

The two top teams after the semi finals, were Pink and Fluro and they battled it out in the grand final with a nail biting game coming to a draw before the last end.

The Pink team, Lesley Kolega, Coral Myers and Doreen Blewit took out the win for the 2019 tournament, runners-up were Fluro's Cheryl King, Ellen Challinger and Barb Moller.

The wooden spoon section was won by Red - Ellen Paues, Gayleen McGeever and Kay Tucker - who battled it out in their final against Maroon's Noelleen Lang, Glenda Woods and Tess Rimland.

Maroon were runners up in this section.
