Tumby wins own dollar shot

SIXTEEN teams participated in the Tumby Bay Bowls Club's (TBBC) Dollar Shot Tournament recently.

As in previous years the event proved popular, with competitors coming from as far as Kangaroo Island, Port Elliot, Streaky Bay, Port Pirie and Whyalla.

On Saturday the teams played four games and at the conclusion of play the tournament ladder displayed the rankings.

The top eight teams are then to play off in the major final on Sunday while those teams who had placed ninth to 16th play off in the minor final.

The tournament's format ensures that every team will win prize money, with the amount being calculated by adding the the number of games won on Sunday (maximum being three) and the shots scored by each team.

Over the weekend the club provided players with bar facilities, lunches, afternoon teas, an evening meal and breakfast on Sunday.

A Tumby Bay team was the big winner in the major final while in the minor final a team comprised of Port Neill, Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln players earned the most prize money.

The weekend is also the major fund raiser for the Tumby Bay Bowls Club.

Special thanks to the many members and their families who through their efforts and time leading up to and over the weekend ensure this event is enjoyed by bowlers and continues to be a great success.
