THE Wheatsheaf Hotel sponsored the stableford competition contested by 62 men including visitors from Glenelg, Port Pirie, Flagstaff Hill and Hamilton golf clubs, and nine women.
Sue Cotton maintained Thursday's good form to win the women's event with 34 from Elaine Pierik on 33.
Men's A grade winner was Adam Sullivan, 38,from John Strycharski, 36. In B grade Peter Fare with the day's best score, 39, pipped Grant Woods, 38. Robert Fox, 36, was best in C grade while Lindsay Gordon was next best with 34.
Run downs went to Greg Barry, 37, Rex Martin and Chris Cottrell each 36, Peter Daniells, 35 and Kym Clarke, 34.
There were only five par three birdies, two from Simon Bell and one each to Warren Rosman, Lindsay Gordon and Dave Wallace.
Nearest the pins: first Chris Cottrell, sixth Ryan Lack, ninth Lindsay Gordon, 10th Simon Bell, 12th Dave Wallace and 18th Jake Murray.
Thursday, June 6
Kallinyalla Garden Centre sponsored a par round contested by 14 women in chilly but fine conditions.
Sue Cotton, two down, won with Jinny Hussey, three down, the runner up.
Run downs went to Janet Whittaker, four down, and Liz Weatherspoon, five down. Nearest the pins: Jinny Hussey ninth and Sue Cotton on the 18th. Points for the day: Sue Cotton, 3, Jinny Hussey, 2, and Janet Whittaker, 1.
Wednesday, June 5
The stableford round, sponsored by Doug Watson Mensland, was played by 56 men.
A grade winner was Dan Townsend, 40, from Trevor Durdin, 39. In B grade Chris Cottrell, 39, came in ahead of Greg Barry, 36. Best score for the day was Kevin Reidy's 42 to win C grade from Danny Gordon on 38.
Run downs went to John Strycharski, 38, and Andrew Frick, Greg Cotton and Kees Mors, all 37.
Par three birdies were recorded by Dan Townsend, Trevor Durdin, Greg Cotton, Warren Rosman, Rob Humphries, Ben Sellen and Josh Hausler.
Nearest the pins: Peter Kenny first, Don Henson sixth, Rob Humphries ninth, Andrew Frick 10th, Dan Townsend 12th and Ryan Lack 18th.
Monday, June 3
The monthly seniors' day saw a dozen players take to the field.
Dave Batterbury, 38, won the men's from Greg 'Fine' Cotton, 36. Liz Weatherspoon, 37, won the ladies' from Elaine Pierik, 30.
Mike Munro won the front nine with 16 points on a count-back and John Hussey took out the back nine with 20 points.
Sunday, June 2
From a field of 13, John Hausler won with 33 points, from Mike Freeman on 32 and Liz Weatherspoon was the best of the ladies with 27.
