Great Flinders trainer Creagh McGlasson was recognised for his years of service as the sole Mortlock Shield life member for 2019.
Mr McGlasson has provided 17 years as a trainer for Great Flinders' Mortlock Shield team, including in 2019.
He is also a life member of the Lock Football Club and the Great Flinders and has also provided his services to Great Flinders' Port Adelaide/Norwood Cup and Kinlough Cup teams.
Great Flinders president Grant Beard presented Mr McGlasson with his life membership at the Mortlock Shield dinner at the Port Lincoln Hotel on Saturday night.
Mr McGlasson said it was overwhelming to be named the latest life member of the Mortlock Shield.
He said he learnt a lot from the many trainers he had interacted with over the years and it brought him great joy to help the players run onto the field every week.
"It's satisfying to see them run out and devastating to see them carried off, they're like family," he said.
