Decent rainfalls are expected across South Australia this week, including the Lower Eyre Peninsula, as a change filters in due to a number of cold troughs moving towards the east.

Port Lincoln received 9.6mm of rainfall on Monday and the Bureau of Meteorology predicted major falls on Wednesday as well, with 3.2mm of rainfall in the city by 9am.

The rain is predicted to continue until midnight on Friday and the cumulative rainfall totals are expected to be about 10 to 25mm for the Lower Eyre Peninsula.

The bureau's outlook for the region from June to August is a 75 per cent chance of 100-200mm of rainfall.
