Tacoma to support more charities

The Tacoma Preservation Society is calling for applications for its 2019-20 charity days program.

The organisation is offering three groups the opportunity to use the Tacoma for free for a day cruise or other event to raise money or as a thank you for their volunteers.

The society's charity program has helped raise about $30,000 for local charity groups in the past six years, with beneficiaries including Meals on Wheels, the National Service Association, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Novita and youth mental health.

Some charities have reported a benefit of up to $3000 from the day.

Smaller charity groups could join together for their day on the boat.

Any charity group wishing to raise money or offer their volunteers an outing is invited to apply to the Tacoma Preservation Society, PO Box 3088, Port Lincoln, SA. 5606, including a possible date and the type of day preferred.
