Wilkes vies for latte art crown

Local barista India Wilkes competed in the state heats for the Breezy Masters, a latte art competition on Tuesday evening.

Miss Wilkes has been a barista at the Rogue and Rascal cafe since 2015, and decided to compete in the state heats for a shot at the national championships later this year.

While Miss Wilkes did not place, she was the only regional competitor of about 30 baristas in the Adelaide heats.

The competition consisted of two rounds before a final, with entrants required to produce a set pattern such as a heart, swan, tulip, rosetta or a free pour design.

The Rogue and Rascal owner Elouise Dukalskis said Miss Wilkes had put in an amazing effort and it was great to see country areas represented at an industry level.
