The Tumby Bay modular skate park will be open for use today, with the modular park constructed on Monday.
A local concreting company was employed to lay the park's concrete slab in March and the modular sections were freighted from Melbourne and arrived last Friday.
The design, which includes ramps, jumps, pipes, and spines, is for all-ages use and can be moved and taken apart if needed.
Phase one of the park was funded by the Tumby Bay Progress Association and the Tumby Bay District Council, and included the purchase and installation of the modular pump track that opened in 2018.
A further $60,000 in grant funding was provided by Variety for phase two of the skate park, with costs kept low due to the modular nature of the design.
In addition to the ramps, soft-fall matting and shade cloths will also be installed in the coming weeks and an official opening will be held on July 24.
