It will feel like a homecoming for the duo of Justin Francis and Scott Bassham, who together make up Ill Starred Captain as they prepare for shows in Port Lincoln and Coffin Bay this weekend.
Ill Starred Captain will be playing at the Soundcity in Port Lincoln with Rusty Bonnett on Saturday from 7pm, followed by a show with Blue Wren at the Coffin Bay Hotel from 3pm.
Touring as a part of the Guitars in Bars Festival, the band will also present the first single of their upcoming album 'Get Lucid on the Transcendental' called 'Skin Too Few'.
Mr Bassham said he was born and raised in Port Lincoln and the band had been based their for about eight years before moving on to Western Australia.
"It's great to get this sort of thing out to venues like Soundcity that really are about music," he said.
"It will feel like we've never left."
Mr Bassham said for their albums they were inspired by the places they toured to, the landscapes they saw and the people they met.
He said the album was the first full album in about eight years and was about looking close at the day-to-day things and then see the bigger picture.
"The whole album is a call out for those who continue to express themselves through tough times," he said.
Tickets for the Soundcity show are available at the door while there is free entry for the Coffin Bay show.
