Port Lincoln's Aboriginal elders gathered at the Grand Tasman Hotel for the annual Elders Lunch, one of the events a part of NAIDOC Week celebrations in Port Lincoln.
Port Lincoln Aboriginal Community Council, along with Gidja Club put on this year's Elders Lunch which was attended by about 30 elders.
Several young Gidja Club members assisted as servers for the day, bringing food prepared by the hotel for the elders, who also enjoyed a cake made by Port Lincoln Bakery.
The council's indigenous community links manager Heather Hirschausen-Cox said they were happy with the turnout and this year and the event continued to be an important part of the NAIDOC Week festivities.
She said respecting elders was a big part of Aboriginal culture and having the young members of Gidja Club involved was also a great part of this year's event.
NAIDOC Week events continue with a quiz/trivia night at the Mallee Park Clubrooms on July 12 from 6.30pm and the football club will host the NAIDOC Ball on Saturday from 7pm.
