Chairperson of the association Louise McDonough said they received a Highways and Byways grant for $2,000 for the September 2 to 13 health and wellbeing fortnight with the aim of bringing people of all ages together.

"Hopefully it will bring different groups and generations of people together and promote new friendships, conversations and a sense of community," she said.

She said the idea came about when the community helped put together the mosaic for the foreshore and there were people who had never met before, despite living in the small coastal town together.

Ms McDonough said different generations socialised in different circles, and so the event aims to bring everyone together.

There are plans for daily yoga in the town hall from 10.20am to 11am with instructor Holly Kraehe from Adelaide, and morning tea afterwards open to everyone.

The Men's Shed is planning activities for both Tuesdays at 9.30am, there is book club at the school, an art exhibition by Anna Andrasic open Monday to Friday 10.20am to 11am, and social pool on both Sundays at the Port Neill hotel.

There is also a photo shoot planned on Sunday September 8 at 10am with the aim of capturing the most people squidding off the jetty at one time.

"Port Neill Post and Trade are getting involved and will be letting me know soon of their ideas and hopefully some other groups and businesses will also get involved," said Ms McDonough last month.

"This is a great time to book accommodation, check into the caravan park or visit your holiday home so you too can be involved in the fortnight of healthy activities.

"Local businesses or individuals are encouraged to contact me if you would like to provide an activity to be included in the program."
