HMAS Melbourne to visit Port Lincoln

HMAS Melbourne will sail into Port Lincoln tomorrow on one of its last port visits before it is decommissioned later this year.

The 138-metre long ship will spend three days in Port Lincoln, arriving tomorrow (Friday August 30) at 10am into Brennan's Wharf.

HMAS Melbournewas deployed to the Middle East eight times and earned battle honours for service in the Persian Gulf, Middle East, and Timor-Leste.

The most recent deployment for HMAS Melbournewas four months in north Asia, where it conducted international maritime surveillance operations to enforce sanctions against North Korea.

The ship is one of six of the Adelaide-class frigate, and is the last still in active service.
