Demi Skinner, who grew up in Port Lincoln, has been rostered to the Bendigo Spirit in the Women's National Basketball League for the 2019/20 season.
She currently represents the Toowoomba Mountaineers in the Queensland Basketball League, and has previously represented SA in under 18 national championships and Australia, playing for the Gems in the under 19s for the Oceania Championships.
"It means a lot, it is a dream come true, I'm really excited for the upcoming season and to be playing with a great bunch of girls," she said.
"My whole life it has been a goal to play in the WNBL and now I'm fortunate enough to say I have finally made it.
She is the first player from Port Lincoln to make it onto a WNBL roster.
"I think I am the first one (from Port Lincoln) which is something that I am very excited to hold onto."
