CUMMINS LADIES GOLF
ELEVEN ladies turned up for their regular golf day with a hot day forecast, so they were all prepared they thought.
The day however, proved warmer than expected, so lots of water was consumed on the course, and the 19th hole was a welcome relief at the end of the day.
No snakes were sighted but some lizards were out and about.
Carmel Sheehan won the day on a count-back from Lisa Tiller.
It was Sheehan's excellent putting prowess as usual that assisted her score.
Well done ladies and also to the players who were not far behind.
Tiff Firth won the nearest the pin (NTP) ball from Mark Forbes Homemakers and Sleepzone on number 17 and Leah Carr won the novelty ball from Intersport for her second shot on number 15 outreaching all the others.
Melissa McCracken showed good form in winning the nine-hole competition and scooping the novelty ball from Eyre Travel for her two long shots on number 15.
The conditions were tough with long grass in the rough, fairways higher than usual meaning some balls were hard to find, heat and northerly winds, resulting in higher scores than hoped for, however, they will all be back next week, with only two weeks left of the season.
Visitors are welcome to the ladies closing day on September 25, with costumes based on summer sports as the theme for the day and champagne and nibbles to be enjoyed before 12 holes pinehurst or ambrose play with a twist begins.
Please let ladies captain Tiff Firth know if you are coming for catering purposes, 0428 762 931.
