Teenage girl sought over Port Lincoln robbery

Port Lincoln police are looking for information from the local community after a woman was robbed of her purse in Port Lincoln on Friday afternoon.

Just after 4.30pm, a woman was walking along Sellen Street near Tennant Street, when she was approached by a teenage girl who asked if she could call a taxi.

As the woman was using her mobile phone to help the girl, the teenage suspect attempted to snatch the phone from her hand and also grabbed the woman's purse.

The two grappled for a few seconds before the woman was pushed to the ground, with the suspect running off with the woman's purse towards Cronin Avenue.

The woman, in her 40s, was left with a sore shoulder and grazing to her hand and knee.

Port Lincoln police patrols searched the area including door knocking several homes but the suspect described as a teenage girl of aboriginal appearance aged about 14 to 16 years old, a slim to medium build, with black shoulder length hair and wearing green clothing was not located.
